Rustenberg John X Merriman<\/h2>\n

\nMerriman, who bought the vineyard in 1892 in sympathy with growers suffering from the phylloxera crisis. He played a great role in revitalizing Rustenberg and in promoting the tourism and agricultural value of Ida\u2019s Valley, which is close to Stellenbosch. The wine itself is a Bordeaux-style blend, with all of the fruit coming from the Estate; made predominantly from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, whichever one performed better in the vintage being

AmphoraeWe source only interesting and thoughtful vintages from small vineyards from across the globe to bring you an interesting glass.Rustenberg John X MerrimanThis wine is named in honour of former owner John Xavier Merriman, who bought the vineyard in 1892 in sympathy with growers suffering from the phylloxera crisis. He played a great role in revitalizing Rustenberg and in promoting the tourism and agricultural value of Ida\u2019s Valley, which is close to Stellenbosch. The wine itself is a Bordeaux-style blend, with all of the fruit coming from the Estate; made predominantly from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, whichever one performed better in the vintage being the dominant grape in the bottle.Cassis, black currant and dark fruits complemented with cigar tobacco and sour cherry notes.
